The Power Of Christ Can Keep Us Going
My night’s sleep was terrible. I awoke feeling restless and sore. I tried to fall back to sleep but couldn’t. So I prayed. I prayed and prayed the rest of the night through. I knew the next day I was responsible for ten children and a vacation Bible camp.
As I got up I knew I felt different. I still had a bad cold but I felt His Power in me.
The power of Christ can keep us going.
Listen to Philippians 3:10
“I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,”
Power – Yes we can have that power when we pray; when we rely fully on Christ to keep us going.
He Makes Us Strong When We Are Weak
Listen to 2 Corinthians 4:7
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
Even though we have these weak bodies and minds we have a power that can surpass our weaknesses and make us strong. Our being is called a treasure to God, but it is held in a jar of clay.
I love knowing that I am treasured by God and He is able to make me strong when I am weak.
2 Corinthians 12:10 says:
“When I am weak, then I am strong.”
We Have The Life Of Jesus
Listen to 2 Corinthians 4:10
“We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.”
In my body is the death of Jesus – that suffering, that emptiness but we also have the LIFE that Jesus gave us to fill us up – give us His Power, Strength, and Joy.
In order to see and have the Life of Jesus, we have to acknowledge the weakness. That isn’t easy when the world tells us to be strong by ourselves – to build self-esteem, to be competitive, to be proud, to be better and to be stronger.
Focus On God
Are you willing, with me, to say to Jesus – I need You all the time. For when I am weak I am strong through You.
Until next time, check your motives. Are you developing yourself or are you looking to Christ to develop you? Let’s keep our focus on our Saviour and stay in the Word.
